Dr. Ronit Purian, Ph.D. in Information Systems, incorporates behavioral, social and environmental aspects in service design and evaluation, and studies the dynamics of technology adoption and ecosystem services. 

Following her professional experience as a journalist, and BA and MA in Psychology, her papers and courses on urban-tech and urban cognition (mainly Big Data Ethics in the Smart City) cover a range of civic topics such as community-based sharing economy, openness in system design and responsibility in technology implementation. She co-chaired CODATA’s task group to apply data science in smart cities; RDA’s AI and Data Visitation working group (Research Data Alliance aidv-wg), and actively collaborates with the industry.​ ​For the past 20 years, Dr. Purian has been involved in collaborative projects and carried out reports to government ministries and agencies, the private sector and academy.​
